Brandi Denise Chastain (natural July 21, 1968) is a soccer player who has been the member of the award winning United States women's national soccer team since 1991.

She attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, helping take a team to deuce-ace state championships.

Chastain enrolled at a University of California, Berkeley in 1986, where she was awarded a Association football Us Freshmen Streaming video player Of The Season award. Shortly when this she underwent anaplasty in two her knees which stimulated her to miss tremendously of the 1987 and 1988 seasons. Inside 1989, she transferred to Santa Clara University, leading their soccer team to deuce final iv NCAA appearances before graduating within 1990.

Chastain number one represented her united states in April 18 1991 against Mexico. She come off the bench to score 5 sequentially goals withwithin the 12-0 United States win, in what was a qualifying game for the number 1 FIFA Women's World Cup. Team United states went around to win the World Ventral suction cup, staged in China, in the equivalent month. Chastain next participated by having a national team in the 1993 CONCACAF championships of New York, another tournament which a Americans won. Late within 1993 she joined a West Team, which won a gold laurel wreath at a Texas Olympic Festival.

Her 1st era as a member of the national team come to an endways August 8 of that year, however she mass produced a team agaaround in 1996 and participated in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, helping a Americans win the gold medallion.

Chastaaround became the domestic title in 1999, when, fallowing helping a United States beat China in the final game of that year's Women's World Cup, she celebrated by taking off her jersey and kneeling down in the middle of the field with only her sports bra and her shorts on. This action was seen by several as a demonstration of female power by Chastain. She was signed to the million dollar contract by Nike afterwards, and more corporations, like Playboy Magazine, sought her presence on their products.

Chastain played on the US women's national team until her last game on December 6, 2004. A team's coach, Greg Ryan, recently revealed she was there are no yearn in the team's plans. She participated in the Women's United Soccer Association from its formation in 2001 until its suspension in 2003.
